From June 30 to July 4, 2025, a revalidation mission was conducted in the territory of the Djerdap UNESCO Global Geopark, in accordance with the procedures of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network. The Djerdap area, which received this prestigious designation in 2020, remains the unique representative of Serbia within the global family of geoparks.

Geological Journey through Đerdap Geopark
At the satellite unit of the “Veljko Dugošević” Primary School in the settlement of Vinci, representatives of the Đerdap Geopark held a workshop for children aimed at introducing them to the geological values and natural wealth of this area.
Educational Walk in the Đerdap Geopark
The Đerdap Geopark hosted third-grade students from “Velimir Markićević” Elementary School in Majdanpek as part of an outdoor educational activity. The aim of the visit was to help children learn about plant and animal species, geoheritage, and the importance of nature conservation through direct experience in nature.
Workshop on Geosouvenir Making at “Vuk Karadžić” Primary School in Boljetin
The Đerdap Geopark organized a creative and educational workshop on geosouvenir making for children at the “Vuk Karadžić” Primary School in Boljetin. During the workshop, students had the opportunity to learn about the process of creating plaster souvenirs – from pouring plaster into molds to the final decoration with paint. Through this interactive and fun activity, children developed their creativity while also learning about the natural and geological values of the Đerdap Geopark.
Djerdap Geopark and the “Misija Kreativa” Women’s Association Working Together to Preserve Cultural Heritage
Representatives of the Đerdap Geopark participated in a workshop organized by the Women’s Association “Misija Kreativa” from Kladovo. During the gathering, they learned about the Association’s work, visited their premises, and actively took part in creative activities, including weaving.
Visit of the Mining Institute to the Đerdap Geopark
Đerdap Geopark had the honor of hosting representatives of the Mining Institute during their visit to our area. During the tour, the guests visited the Kovilovo viewpoint – one of the most beautiful spots offering an impressive view of the Đerdap Gorge and the rich relief of this unique region.

European Geoparks Week in the Djerdap Geopark
As part of the celebration of European Geoparks Week, and in cooperation with the Museum in Majdanpek, an exhibition dedicated to the archaeological site of Rudna Glava—one of the most significant prehistoric copper mines in Europe—has been set up at the premises of the Djerdap Geopark.
