The 54th International Tourism Fair was held in Novi Sad from November 30 to December 2. The Fair gathered over 240 exhibitors from the country and abroad who presented their tourist offer.

From November 8 to 9, 2023, the 48th Council Meeting of the European Geoparks Network was held online.

International Geodiversity Day is a worldwide celebration, bringing people together on October 6 each year, to promote the many aspects of geodiversity. International Geodiversity Day was proclaimed by UNESCO at the 41st General Conference in 2021.

From July 19 to 23, 2023, a revalidation mission was carried out on the territory of the Djerdap UNESCO Global Geopark. This area received the important quality mark, “UNESCO Global Geopark”, in 2020 and is the first and, for now, the only UNESCO Global Geopark in Serbia.

Among the protected geoheritage sites, not only in the area of Djerdap Geopark, the Boljetinska Reka Canyon stands out for its attractiveness. After the recent floods, the Boljetinska River swelled from the rains, destroyed the embankment, undermined the road and carried it downstream into the Danube in the largest part along the profile.

The event was attended by presidents and representatives of ministries, local self-governments, the Zaječar Regional Chamber of Commerce, tourist organizations, public companies and institutions, as well as colleagues from protected areas, the Institute for Nature Protection of Serbia, faculties and other institutions, the Public Enterprise “Djerdap National Park” Donji Milanovac marked the Company Day.

On the occasion of the World Environmental Day, the Day of Public Enterprise “Djerdap National Park” Donji Milanovac and the Week of European Geoparks, on June 5, 2023, the exhibition Rocks, hidden colors and shapes was opened in the Visitor Center of the National Park and Djerdap UNESCO Global Geopark in Donji Milanovac.

On the World Environment Day in 1989, the Company for the Protection and Development of the Djerdap National Park was registered in the then commercial court in Zaječar with the aim of protecting cultural assets, natural and other sights in the area of the Djerdap National Park. A few years later, under the Law on National Parks from 1993, the Company for the Protection and Development of the Djerdap National Park became the Public Company “Đerdap National Park” with headquarters in Donji Milanovac.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Public Enterprise “Djerdap National Park” and the Preschool Institution “Marija Munćan”, on June 1. 2023, “Ecology Festival” was held, a play whose theme was ecology.

This year’s 16th “Zlatna Nota” gathered over 60 students from primary and secondary music schools from Aleksinac, Niš, Zaječar, Negotin, Požarevac, Majdanpek, Donji Milanovac and Bor.
